Hi,
Sorry for the delay, I tried several times to reproduce this issue without success.
But, today I was able to reproduce it consistently, the issue only happens for me for fallbacks of the same base language and if the language is the same as the current language.
A fix for this is now in the beta folder: v2.8.7b2
